Summary

Buru SFTP Server is more than just a file server. It works as an SSH server as well. It allows you to connect to the server, run the remote commands or open a remote shell. SSH shell runs over a secure SSH channel.

SSH remote shell - using remote terminal

Using SSH, you can connect to a remote computer and run a remote shell session on it. You can set up a different shell for each user.

Supported shell types

Minimal

Minimal shell with SCP support. File system access will be restricted to the user’s path mapping. This is the default option.

Terminal

Shell process (such as cmd.exe, PowerShell.exe) will be spawned.

SSH exec - running remote commands

You can run a single command, get the results and disconnect. For details, see SSH Exec documentation.

Impersonation PROedition

When Windows authentication is enabled, shell can be executed under the identity of the connected user.

SSH authentication modes

The server supports the following SSH authentication methods:

• Local password authentication
• Windows authentication PROedition
• Public/private key authentication
• Multi-factor authentication
